Straight Answers

We deliver an honest assessment and answer your questions, every time

We’re dedicated to being a good neighbor and earning your trust. Our specialists are EPA certified and start with a thorough diagnosis of your system. We show you what we found, what a repair costs, and what happens if you wait. That way, you can make an informed decision with real information in front of you.

If a small repair gets you through the summer, we say so. If your system really is finished, we show you why we think that. Then it’s your call, not ours.

Have geothermal, or are you genuinely not certain what kind of unit you have? Call or text (828) 667-8743 and describe what it’s doing. We work on geothermal systems too, which not every shop around here does.

The Excellence Club

The first hot day is when everybody finds out

Air conditioners rarely quit in April. Instead, they quit on the first hot afternoon, the same afternoon every other house in the county is calling. It feels like bad luck! But it’s just the first time that year the system has been asked to work hard, and something that was already wrong finally showed.

The Excellence Club is how you skip that afternoon. We take care of you with two tune-ups a year, spring and fall, so the small problems get caught before an emergency.

Ask your technician to enroll you before they leave, or call or text (828) 667-8743. Your membership starts right away, so today’s visit already gets member pricing.

If our work is anything less than the best, we’ll make it right! Guaranteed.

Stay Cool, Stay Excellent

Mountain summers here are humid, and humidity is part of what makes a house feel unbearable. A system that is sized and running properly pulls moisture out of the air while it cools, which is why a house at 74 can feel better than a neighbor’s house at 71. Ask us about it sometime. Our cutting-edge lidar scans make sure your cooling solution is a perfect match for your home.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

A diagnostic appointment is $129. That buys a real diagnosis from one of our specialists, who finds the problem, shows you what they found, and quotes the repair before any work begins. Nothing happens to your system until you say so. The repair itself depends on the part and the system, which is exactly why we look first and quote second instead of guessing over the phone. You know the price before we start, and that has been the rule here since 2001.

Usually one of a few things, and they look identical from the thermostat. Airflow is the most common: a clogged filter, a closed vent, or an outdoor unit packed with leaves and grass clippings, so the system runs and runs without ever moving enough air to cool anything.

Low refrigerant is another. Worth knowing: refrigerant is not consumed the way fuel is, so if it’s low, it’s leaking somewhere. Topping it off every summer without finding the leak just charges you again next year.

A frozen indoor coil will do it too, and so will an outdoor unit that has quit while the indoor fan keeps blowing. Each of those needs a different repair, which is why we diagnose before we quote instead of guessing over the phone.

It depends on the age of the system, what has failed, and what it would cost to keep it running. If a small repair gets you through the summer, we say so, and most of the time it does. If your system really is finished, we show you exactly why we think that and answer your questions before you decide anything. Nobody here will try to sell you a new system before we have looked at the one you already have.

Written estimates are free. We scan the house with LiDAR first, so a replacement is sized to your actual home rather than a rule of thumb, and financing is available.
